Who is responsible.

Yiannis Zambas, trading as Switch, is the data controller for everything described here. Write to us at hello@switch.cy with any question about your details.

What we collect.

Using the calculator collects nothing personal. Your answers stay on your device until you press “Email me these results”.

If you press “Email me these results”, we collect your name, email address, your answers to the calculator's questions (and, for businesses, the company name), and the estimate you were shown.

If you send feedback, we collect your message, your email address if you add one, the page you were on, and the estimate you were shown.

Smart meter files.

If you email us your smart meter file, we use it only to reply, as you asked, which kind of electricity tariff suits your consumption. We do not use it for advertising or offers, and we do not give it to anyone except the company that provides our email service. We delete it, with the email, within 30 days of our reply. If you want it deleted sooner, write to us at hello@switch.cy.

Why.

To email you your results if you asked for that. We use the answers to understand what people in Cyprus are looking for.

Who sees it.

Switch (Yiannis Zambas). Google, whose Sheets and Gmail services receive the form, keep the list and send the emails. Nobody else. We don't pass your details to installers or any other company, and we never sell them.

Legal basis.

We email you your results only with your consent, which you give when you press “Email me these results”. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us. We also keep aggregate counts of how many people reach each step, which is our legitimate interest in seeing whether the calculator works; those counts identify nobody.

Where your details are held.

Google may store data on servers outside the European Economic Area. That transfer relies on the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

How long.

We keep the form details and feedback for twelve months from the day you sent them, then delete them. Smart meter files are deleted within 30 days of our reply. Sooner if you ask.

Your rights.

You can ask to see, correct or delete your details at any time. Email hello@switch.cy and we will do it within a week.

Complaints.

If you think we have handled your details badly, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Office of the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus, which supervises us.

Visit counting.

We count how many visits each page of the site gets and how many people reach each step of our calculators. We also see where visitors come from, for example a post of ours on Facebook or Instagram. We count all this with GoatCounter, which sets no cookies and records nothing that identifies you.
